we've lost it all
& i am just a silhouette, a lifeless face you'll soon forget

The huge tom lumbered into the foreign clan's territory. He had been spending a majority of his time in Saberclan territory, as it'd been his home for his entire life, but his sister would only allow him the grace to stick around for so long, and he was more than aware of that. However, he might get a pass by the other clans with fur that still smelled of his old home. The warrior code forbade outright murder after all. He, if anyone, should know that.

He strolled leasurely through the yellow and red forests, following the river upwards until he had crossed out of Coyoteclan territory as well, trying to put a moderate amount of distance between himself and his sister's clan. His brown tabby fur ruffled and he pricked his ears forwards. The river he was walking along had steep banks, and he was getting closer to a fairly large rock on the embankment, which might give him a chance to lay down and rest a while. He just had to be careful of snakes or spiders, didn't want some pest taking him out. He moved to the rock quickly, unsheithing his long claws and slamming a big paw down on a snake that was silently moving closer to him from underneith, at least he had caught it before it got him this time.

Disgarding the limp corpse of the snake to the side, he moved closer to and up onto the large rock. It was mildly dangerous, sure, but as long as he didn't get bitten, snakes posed little threat. He settled down on the taller stone, fur ruffling gently in the breeze as he contemplated his next steps. He sat there like that in silence, until he heard the bushes a few lengths away rustling violently. Only mildly interested in the newcomer, he lashed his tail and called out calmly to whoever it was approaching. "Who's there? Show yourself." His deeper voice boomed as his steady amber gaze focused on the rustling foliage in the distance. He doubted it was anyone that could hurt him, thankfully, but he really wasn't aiming to tussle with any of the other clanners. Didn't need more issue on his wrap sheet right now.

Sootnose
Warrior of EagleClan

"the more you let go, the higher you rise"

Sootnose hadn't enjoyed spending her time in camp, discovering it was relatively dull as her clanmates didn't specifically amuse her, nor could she get away with murder any further. Or so, she presumed. She had an eerie sentiment that an individual would eventually find out she murdered all of those cats, recalling their names in her crania; Nightwhisper, Shadepool, Snowkit, and Redkit. Four felines in one inky black night, a night where the clouds shrouded Silverpelt's twilight. She desired to take Dapplecreek's life too, but she'd been unduly tardy regarding Dapplecreek's awakening after Sootnose kidnapped her sister's kits for murder. Thankfully, no one in EagleClan had uncovered that Sootnose had taken out four of her clanmates. The sadistic molly wasn't the most pleasant warrior, as she'd consistently wished to break more of StellerClan's regulations. She had become mates with an outsider and killed her clanmates, and even worse, they were all family. StarClan presumably considered Sootnose as a disgrace to her ancestors. The mademoiselle could care less regarding her bloodthirsty behavior. However, her victims weren't just anyone; they were primarily felines of the Clans, taking out anyone who had individuals they loved. She would often leave one of those family members out, allowing them to suffer just like she had daily. Sootnose was shattered and detached from the trait reckoned as empathy.

Sootnose found herself absentmindedly meandering through the clan's territory, leaving the camp without a word as she typically did. For some reason, her fellow clanmates feared her. Perhaps not everyone, but merely so. The smoky ebony and alabaster she-cat detected an unfamiliar aroma, a scowl crossing her countenance as it fell short from an adversary clanner's scent. The strange fragrance intertwined between a clan cat's smell and an outsider's distinctiveness. The clan's aroma had faded from the strength of an opposing clanner's smell. Perhaps an exile? Sootnose was determined to find out, adrenaline rushing through her physique as she treaded forward; a husky, malicious snicker escaped her mandibles, "Did someone come to trespass around today? Oh, how you chose the incorrect time, mouse-brain." Sootnose pressed on, long appendages ascending quickly amongst the terrain. Slowing her pace as she neared, she reminisced for a moment, freeing a certain amount of weight to her toes, allowing for more silent pawsteps. Sootnose inhaled sharply as she watched the opposing feline through the shrubbery she'd been able to find cover within. There weren't too many places to hide in EagleClan's vast, open territory. Sootnose scrutinized the velutinous and monumental tomcat, watching as he snaked toward the riverbed, greeted by a snake he simply crushed.

She started to make a lunge for it, causing the bushes to shudder, halting when she heard his voice. Aren't you so smart? I'm not too fond of these shrubs; I should've chosen the trees. Sootnose dubiously showed her countenance, quickly hoisting her physique upright. She was an enormous feline, harboring Maine coon genes and surpassing the average female's size. Her dimensions matched a tom's altitude, fur bristling slightly as she lingered closer. "I must question you, rabbit-brain, who are you?" Sootnose paused for a moment, furrowing her brows as she raised her crania. Sootnose's countenance was menacing regarding the patterns throughout her pelage. "Trespassing in EagleClan's territory wasn't very clever, especially when you cross paths with a cat whose heart is as cold as a fox's." Her smirk widened across her maw. Her feathery tail flicked and raised into the troposphere as she crept closer, and crania slugged between her shoulders as if she was creeping toward prey. "Aren't you so lovely?" She purred, vocalizations hypnotic and mesmerizing. She was someone to watch for; little did Timberfire realize.

The tom noted that this shecat was three things, right off the bat. She was larger than the average molly, she was mean, and she was definitely an Eagleclanner, though he hadn't been too keen to notice her at the few gatherings he had guarded his sister at, so he wasn't too sure exactly who she was.

Regardless, her clan's scent washed over him, the thickness of their camp invading him even at this distance. His eyes rolled at the lunacy in hers, and the quick switch from insults to sweet words, obviously trying to throw him off his game. But the massive tom had been exiled for a reason, and he knew the Green River was an effective method to rid of cats with thick pelts.

From his perch on the rock he was rested upon, she seemed larger than he, but his lazy demener never changed. One thing the molly seemed to have failed to realize is that she might not be the biggest, baddest wolf in these woods, and the fact bemused Timberfire, which showed on his expression. The indifference had changed to a lazy bemusement, and he chuckled gently under his breath, in no hurry to answer her demands.

The towering feline of pure muscle and thick fur lazily stood from his resting spot, leaning his shoulders down in a stretch and yawning with massive jaws, exposing gleaming teeth, yellowed with the blood of prey and other cats. After all, the tom had fought in the war-had killed in that war, and afterwards as well. A mere cat from Eagleclan, no matter how deranged, would not scare him more than Rainstar did. And Rainstar only scared him because she knew him and who he was, and what he had done, and could rally the clan-and possibly even get allies from the other two clans. Even Timberfire wasn't foolish enough to think he could take on an entire clan alone, let alone the clan with support from the other clans. No, he didn't quite have that ability yet, but that didn't mean he wouldn't.

Here, however, to this molly, he was just a cat with a faded Saberclan scent. A deserter, exile, whatever she presumed he was most likely wasn't even close to what the ambitious, power-driven tom was, he guaranteed it.

His claws slid out in his stretch, long and feral, and when they retracted back into his pads they left scour marks on the rock's surface beneath him. In one, linguid movement he was on the ground before her, quieter than one would think with his demeaner. He didn't tower over her like he did most others, rather, he was about even, staring into her yellow eyes with his own deep amber pools from his position a few paces away. "I don't think you have a right to know who I am, after insulting me and insinuating that I can't hold my own in a fight." he said, coldly but with a hint of lightheartedness to the backend of his tone. He wasn't going to be around much longer anyway, and was simply resting and planning on getting a bite to eat before setting off through the mountain passage, towards the city. Not that this puffing molly needed to know that.

Another deep, booming cluckle erupted from his chest as he turned, looking to move farther down the river, closer to the crossing that led across and towards the mountains, flicking her nose with his thick tail as he passed leasurely. He didn't feel like fighting, and she was amusing to say the least. "Just don't threaten to skin me alive in the next breath, it's not a good look." the tone this time was smug, airy, as if he figured she'd try to leap on his back as he turned to leave. Though, she was free to make the attempt for sure.

Sootnose
Warrior of EagleClan

"the more you let go, the higher you rise"

Sootnose certainly wasn't any ordinary she-cat, and despite how she communicated, she was humble. She just enjoyed toying with others' minds, whether they comprehended her intentions or hadn't. She possessed a coquettish approach, perceived as an egotistical and self-conceited mademoiselle, but that was downright inaccurate. Sootnose had identified the contrasting bachelor as an ex-warrior of SaberClan. He was the protective brother who shielded his sister, Rainstar, from feasible jeopardies. However, Sootnose was oblivious to the exile's name, but she couldn't help but ponder. It was transparent that he hadn't been in a rush to respond to her remarks, monitoring his facial expressions shift. He had a sluggish, slothful demeanor. The bemusement in his facade caused Sootnose's whiskers to twitch, distinctive canary visage narrowing. She was displeased; she hadn't displayed it, allowing her countenance to ease up briskly. The brute of a tom wouldn't witness much vulnerability from the mademoiselle unless he'd known something about her history, which was far-fetched. Sootnose was highly acquainted with The Green River regarding the night she'd taken four lives.

Sootnose glimpsed toward the Green River, only for a moment, she thought. It would be delightful to watch him drown, but the current's not powerful enough. It would've been nice to see the rushing rapids, but we'd need to move further down the river. Sootnose blinked, visage quickly returning to Timberfire's piercing amber gaze, a husky array of laughter escaping her mandibles. "Oh, you thought I was implying you can't fight? Wrong," She flashed a crooked grin, leaning forward slightly, "I was implying that I will challenge you if you hesitate to leave." She shrugged her shoulders, heaving her physique upright. The damsel dared to settle amongst her haunches, surveying him. She was quick on her toes. Sootnose's feathery tail oscillated behind her rump, eventually coiling around her frontal foundations. "I am sorry to hear you misinterpreted it." The warrior understood this banished tom couldn't conceivably know anything about Sootnose's murders, no one knew. Sootnose desired to tell him, although right now wasn't the appropriate time. She wanted to get to know him better, as he was ousted for a reason.

His sister exiled him, someone the EagleClan warrior, believed was more logical than the previous EagleClan leader. "It's not supposed to be, a good look." Sootnose retorted, her muscles rippling beneath her pelt as she tensed up. The molly rolled her golden visage, continuing the conversation as she wasn't quite ready to escort him out of the territory. "I am sincerely apologetic; I didn't mean to be so bitter," Sootnose uttered relatively caustically, "I am talking to an exile, aren't I? You'd think you would be completely out of the domain of all three clans." Sootnose inhaled as she scanned the opposing feline several times, watching every movement and expression. With an exhale, she pursued her commentary, "I do not intend to be impolite. Perhaps if I introduce myself first, I am Sootnose, warrior of EagleClan."

Sootnose was scornful to be a part of EagleClan, although times had changed after her father's ignorance. The mademoiselle needed another plan, something to root against the clans. Timberfire might've been the explanation, so she must develop an association with him. There were more promising establishments than EagleClan, though she'd miss the beautiful scenery her Clan's territory provided. The woodland of EagleClan wasn't as dense as CoyoteClan's nor SaberClan's, but upon the forest floor woven with ancient tree roots came a light filtered by the bouquet of foliage above: softened, verdant, and freshly aromatic. When the day is growing old and the hearth calls, the sun sinks beneath the tops of the canopy. The light streaks through the boughs in both brilliant and shadowy beams. She waited patiently for Timberfire's response.

& i am just a silhouette, a lifeless face you'll soon forget

The tom flicked his tail again, his pace leasurely as he moved a few steps away, before coming to a lounging stop and turning back to the large molly. He sat on the dirt next to the river, droplets coating his thick back fur in a fine mist as he rumbled another laugh from his chest. "I am Timberfire, formerly of Saberclan until I was exiled. And I am on my way out, I just don't see the need to move very quickly. It's not as if anyone here in this territory poses much of a threat to my life anyway." He purred softly at the end of the statement, his whiskers twitching in amusement.

His amber and gold gaze shifted out over Eagleclan's rolling territory, before landing back on Sootnose's form and steadying there. "I thought I might lay down for a bit, catch a bite to eat, you know, for the journey. I hear the mountain pass is a bit of a barren mess anyway, I wouldn't want to starve on my way through it or anything, now would I?" He asked jovially, taking the entire situation as a bit of a joke. He would find reinforcements in the city that he had heard rumor of, and he knew this molly could hold her own in a scuffle just from her toned muscles, but, even if it was slight, he had size on his side. And he could bet that he was at least mildly heavier than her. It would be close, but he knew that she couldn't fight him without sustaining her own injuries and issues, which would likely stay her paw when it came to violence.

Or maybe she was truly unhinged and didn't care. Either way, he'd make it where he was headed, either in one piece or dragging half his fur behind him in clumps. The goal would be reached, wounds healed and scars looked cool, so he didn't personally mind any outcome. The only thing that really mattered was that he wouldn't lose by a catastrophic amount and risk his life in this encounter. He counted that as a win, even if it was only a partial one.

"So, miss... Sootnose, was it? Are you going to do your due diligence as a fiersome warrior of Eagleclan and chase little ol' me out of here? I'm being mighty threatening, resting on your rocks and all." He said in an amused, teasing tone, his tail slowly swishing around to relax across his paws. "But since you have to be a good, loyal warrior to that snobby leader of yours... Ptarmiganstar, was it? That's a bit of a name, anyway, since you're her loyal little warrior, I suppose I'm to be chased out even if I'm not bothering you or the clans." He snorted, rolling his eyes and sneering a bit before standing again, eyes glinting dangerously as his thick, large paws kneeded the ground beneith him. "I'll do you the favor of seeing myself out if you prefer, but I'd appreciate a fish for the road, if you have any to spare."

Sootnose
Warrior of EagleClan

"the more you let go, the higher you rise"

Sootnose's visage scrutinized the opposing feline numerous times, gaze rolling over his herculean frame. There were irregular logical reasons she'd been goggling over the bachelor's behemoth physique. Despite his lazy, sluggish behavior and lengthy fur, his muscles rippled beneath his pelage as she watched him ambulate to settle amongst his haunches on the loamy soil by the riverbank. Droplets pooled from individual hairs, trickling to be absorbed by the ground beneath. She remained silent as she listened to his introduction, a chuckle escaping her maw upon the mention of eviction. Oh, he got caught? "Perhaps I'm the only threat here in EagleClan, to you, at least. I don't just blabber." As she articulated, her vocals deepened, the lust for blood arising within her embodiment. She presumed it was best to control her bloodthirst for now. Attempting to shake her churning mind, Sootnose inhaled through her nasal passages, visage narrowing, "Timberfire, a lovely name; I see you decided to keep your Clan name. Any reasoning for that?" The mademoiselle inquired, genuinely curious whether he had a reason or not, or perhaps too lazy to think of an interesting name.

Sootnose figured she'd be exiled eventually, as it was impossible to murder felines behind her Clan's back, especially of her own family and Clan. She was disappointed she didn't slaughter Dapplecreek that night, a scowl crossing her countenance at the undesirable reflection. She hadn't acted quick enough, though, she could only do so much, and four cats in one night was impressive if one could say so herself. "It would be disapproved in the eyes of EagleClan if some rogue was hunting in the territory, but I suppose you can move along." A snarky grin danced across her facade, visage darkening as she continued to admire the brawny tom. He could be valuable. There was more beneath his slothful demeanor; she would have to prod. "Of course, I wouldn't want you to starve, Timberfire." She spoke his name, permitting his name to roll off her silver tongue effortlessly. She lingered a few steps toward him, gazing intensely at him when she'd gotten closer, about two tail-lengths afar. Sootnose's stance wasn't too low, as she'd been quite an unpredictable damsel with her switches of tone and movement. She was unorthodox and unhinged, without a doubt.

She didn't dare respond to the exile until he finished rambling about Ptarmiganstar and whatever else he said. She wasn't entirely listening as his rambles became boorish and deplorable. It was too much. "Chase you, dear, Timberfire?" She cooed in question, "No." She grumbled bluntly, vocals bland. Cocking a brow, she purred before she instantaneously lunged, powerful hind legs sending her forward. Sootnose claws unsheathed, talons hooking Timberfire's skin as she pressed the bachelor into the loamy terrain, feeling him sink slightly beneath her weight. She was nearly as immense as him, if not larger. She wasn't ordinary. A hiss escaped her mandibles, claws raking downward as she struck his chest. It wasn't too deep, just enough to break the skin. She only wanted to draw a little blood. "Show me what you can do, Timberfire." She whispered, wanting him to challenge her or return the favor. How strong are you, sir SaberClan exile? She was satisfied with the minimal damage, as it was only enough to make the blood trickle.
