Appearance Summary • a light brown classic tabby she-cat with hazel eyes and large ears.
Overall Appearance

Smudgemask has incredibly distinct pigmentations of brown, followed by lighter areas of beige and ivory. The she-cat's countenance is the most distinguishing aspect, possessing a smokey coloration that appears like a mask, hence her name. Smudgemask's face is her primary color, technically a toffee-brown hue, with atramentous striping horizontally amongst her cheeks, descending to her trachea. The youthful warrior's facade is mostly shadowed by darker pigments of brown and black, with areas of beige and toffee peeking out. If one were to scrutinize her chest and throat area, her opaque stripes come around from her flanks and nape and don't start until her chest. Strangely, there's one stripe across her chest, leaving her lower chest and belly merely bare from markings. There are broken spots on her abdomen, making the light brown and ivory more prominent.

Smudgemask's flanks are enveloped with ebony classic tabby markings, though broken up and less pronounced than most classic tabbies. Her lengthy, dense pelage is still growing, regarding her young age, as her flanks and cheeks will plump with long fur. Besides her unique color and smudged-looking face, she has a feathery tail, much like this, though they follow her colors with lighter brown flowing from the outer strands and dark brown inner, pooling outwards. Her legs are not as long as she is in length. In the utmost circumstances, the damsel's elongated physique is remarkable for leaping and strides. Along these powerful, herculean legs are minimal stripes, as her primary color is more predominant throughout her whole body. Smudgemask's large auditories allow her to hear sufficiently and cause her crania to appear more undersized than proportionate.

Strengths •  Disciplined, Meticulous, Realistic, Sympathetic

Weaknesses • Intolerant, Volatile, Deceitful, Vexatious

Overall Personality •

Smudgemask is an abnormally well-rounded warrior, standing out amongst the crowd in her remarkable, admirable way. The damsel is memorable from the first impression she consistently demonstrates. Smudgemask is moderately disciplined and capable of identifying rising curiosity that she refuses to pursue, remaining in one place or discovering a distraction from these impulses. The she-cat possesses a meticulous mentality, prying apart anything positioned before her, whether it was another feline, creature, or thing. Without a doubt, she expands her attention to the utmost components necessary in her mindset. With her incredible attention to detail, she plans on succeeding with whatever comes before her visage, whether training when the time comes or a fox prepared for the kill. Many would probably assume that she'd have an imaginative psyche; however, she is significantly realistic in terms of life. She typically clarifies things the way they are, often being blunt though seamlessly analytical. If an individual is to say something foolish or visionary around her, she will unintentionally correct them. Smudgemask is sympathetic, willing to listen to others, and opens her paws in a supportive demeanor despite having such an intelligent sense. She's very level-headed when it comes to others' emotions. While predominately scrutinizing in silence, when approached, she has soft, hypnotic vocalizations affixed to ease another's uncertainties.

The mademoiselle isn't downright hesitant of anything, as she's preferably audacious. The damsel is ingenious, dubious of everyone amidst her. The she-cat wouldn't let anyone sneak up on her or watch her without provoking inquiries. Quite reflective of her, considering she adulates monitoring everyone and everything surrounding her. Such a creative essence delivers an experimental aura, at least, for Smudgemask. She's not imaginative in representing subjects out of rationality, but she's got consistent theories about the lives of others. She's more inquisitive about the sanity of others than the outside world and creatures within it. Nature is an outlandish topic in Smudgemask's vision, as it's the only thing that genuinely exhilarates her other than how another individual thinks, feels, and functions. As an experimentalist, she generally experiments by figuring out ways to mess with others' brains and distract them. Who knows what chaos this might arise subsequently down the path. When she's not hushed, Smudgemask appears to have an intense spirit, staring at others with wide, attentive gaze waiting for their next move or statement. Despite her virtuously silent persona, she is very expressive and fervant, flashing a cheeky grin when articulating with those she enjoys the presence of, revealing vulnerability. Toward strangers, she's more invulnerable and reluctant to associate. Without a doubt, Smudgemask is moderately stubborn. The is never deterred by another person's warnings, concerns, or arguments, as she will consistently do as she pleases, for the most part. It's very challenging to shift her somewhat ludicrous mentality.

While commonly sympathetic and expressive, bypassing her silent moments, Smudgemask is intolerant toward foreigners or unfamiliar clanmates, less direct with family, and displaying a more passive-aggressive demeanor. Smudgemask quickly tells others to remove themselves from her presence or correct something she deems unsuitable for the conversation. She is susceptible to rapid mood transitions due to her characterized intolerance. The she-cat adores her brothers by all means; her family in general, if disarrayed with she can become volatile. This eruptive behavior can range from explosive to an eerie fury of silence where she's meticulously plotting. Smudgemask is an intentionally deceitful feline, using her somniferous vocalizations to meander around undesirable or untrustworthy situations. She occasionally demonstrates naiveness, whether she's guilty of causing a ruckus with her troublesome personality. Smudgemask adores creating worry within others, harboring amusement in witnessing another grow frustrated or apprehension by her actions. Stirring up crisis is one of the specialties this mademoiselle possesses. This vexatious personality will probably send her into turmoil with herself or those amidst her. There's no getting around what this molly has to offer, as this will only worsen as she ages. With such a bold personality, it probably won't be nearly as prominent until she reaches apprenticeship and warrior hood, characterized more by these traits as she ages.

the history

Kittenhood:

One Greenleaf night, Sunbrook and Sprucenose had been out on a patrol together, the vocalizations of their upcoming kits had been spoken about. Soon, Sunbrook would have to retreat to the nursery where her kits would be born. Joy filled the pair's embodiments, as many could see on the outside the rigid pair lightened up. The day finally came, the sun had been coming over the horizon, beauteous colors of amber, lilac, and tuscany was arrayed across the abyss beyond which shone rays of light into the nursery that morning. First born, was Russetkit in which the rays of the sun glistened amongst her fiery ginger pelage. It was moons after their first litter, which had been unexpectedly one kit. She had another litter, about seven moons apart from her first son. First born from the second litter had been Smudgekit, who was named for the patterns decorating her facade, merely looking like a smudge painted on her face. Second born, it was Ospreykit, named for his pigment and size. His fur looked quite wild after his birth, almost as if he'd been cow-licked.

The two kittens all had very different personalities, that actually mixed relatively well. Ospreykit would grow to be deeply caring and outgoing, while Smudgekit collaborates well with him, as she grows into a more empathetic and intuitive, meticulous feline. They're combination works well considering Ospreykit expertises in social skills and communication to his sister whom listens and emphasizes with. The other one on the other hand, Russetpaw will become a curious intellectual that will drive him to innovation with the backup of Smudegkit who has a strong decisive nature and the strength to put innovation into implementation. But how do they get along with the other pairs of one another? Having these unique personalities provided them with each other to their different aspects of making things happen and such. Throughout their history, this might be seen.

Smudgekit enjoyed spending the majority of his kitten hood with her brother, Ospreykit who she'd gotten along with best. The other tom just kind of confused her with his incredible determination to do things, meanwhile, Smudgekit and Ospreykit were less activity-driven. The two often would speak about their futures as warriors. Ospreykit had always been curious about the medicine cat's den, finding himself stumbling out of the nursery to his avail, though unfortunately being returned by Sprucenose or Sunbrook. Smudgekit often joined her brother in these little adventures to the medicine cat's den, just to be taken back every single time. Smudgekit would encourage her brother's feelings on becoming a medicine cat, emphasizing with him as much as she could, being his support.

Apprenticeship:

Smudgekit remembered her apprentice ceremony quite clearly, never forgetting the exhilarating moment to the next step in becoming a warrior. Of course, her siblings were right along next to her as well. Under Alderstar's reign of the Clan, he renamed the two young felines as their apprentice names, Smudgepaw and Ospreypaw. However, Alderstone hadn't received his nine lives yet during this time. Not only that but of course, they were assigned to their mentors to become warriors. Smudgepaw would never forget her mentor's name, finding it a different name. Crookedtail, that was his name. The well-known, respected, and previously named Nightflight for agility, stamina, and completely atramentous pelt. Smudgepaw stepped to greet her mentor that morning; the behemoth tomcat before her was almost terrifying. Smudgepaw had only known of his skill, not so much his personality. Anxiety filled her crania and abdomen, causing her to feel ill, almost.

When Crookedtail greeted, his voice was raspy and deep but kind and surprisingly gentle. After Nightflight's injuries, Alderstar renamed Crookedtail when he quarreled with two dogs. Of course, he wasn't the only one taking on the hounds, as there were three other CoyoteClanners by his flank. However, Crookedtail was unfortunate, and a canine had seized Nightflight's tail between its jaws, jolting which caused a remarkable injury. The tom's cartilage in his tail snapped and caused the joint to lock, giving him a kinked tail. He appeared petrifying, that's it, but it turned out it was quite the opposite of menacing. Crookedtail was nurturing in a fatherly demeanor and reserved. That morning, after the ceremony, Crookedtail proposed to show Smudgepaw the environment to comprehend it before training.

Upon her first day of training, Smudgepaw was taken out to the territory by her mentor, Crookedtail. Crookedtail had immediately gotten into his lectures, wandering around the domain unsystematically. It prevailed for a few days, as Crookedtail expected that Smudgepaw knew CoyoteClan's territory like the back of her paws. After the first week of learning CoyoteClan's terrain, she finally accumulated into more stimulating situations. Crookedtail had questioned Smudgepaw about what most interested her about being a warrior, and the first few things she had brought up were swimming, fighting, and climbing. Crookedtail had spent three moons teaching Smudgepaw the strategy and techniques of climbing and leaping from the most uncomplicated to complex. While ushering her dexterities, he introduced the young she-cat to climb and attack from above, then track to find her prey or opponents such as other Clanners or enemies such as the fox or badger.

Crookedtail focused on laboring other skills as more moons passed on, but the following priority was battle tactics and approaches. Combat was a crucial skill; even if a feline didn't entirely qualify, Crookedtail was conscious that he prepared Smudgepaw for extremities. Smudgepaw would work for hours, finding herself in exhausting conditions. For Crookedtaill's age, he was full of boundless energy that Smudgepaw struggled to compete. She was envious of her mentor's energy and pep, but Smudgepaw didn't quite have it in her. One night, she had found herself in the Medicine Cat's den, attempting to gain the rest she required. She had stayed two nights, recovering the sleep she'd been neglecting. Smudgepaw felt constantly depleted with an endless abundance of training, but she knew she wouldn't regret it in the future, or at least she had desired. Crookedtail delivered Smudgepaw weekly tests that compelled her mastery, and swimming was undoubtedly one regarding a near-death experience she'd conquered without trepidation.

One day, Crookedtail had given her a break, and Smudgepaw was now twelve moons, and it was about time he was named a warrior. Something implied to Smudgepaw that today would be the day or tomorrow, but that something was merely his instinct communicating. Smudgepaw and her father, Sprucenose, had proceeded on a border patrol, conveying her future as a warrior. Smudgepaw was relatively disappointed that her brother Ospreycry had earned his warrior name a moon prior, but that could've been his drive toward motivation. Meanwhile, Smudgepaw was a late bloomer behind her siblings, whereas Ospreypaw acquired his warrior names one moon ago and Russetbreath; four moons ago. Smudgepaw and Sprucenose had an adequate bond, deemed as two peas in a pod, considering they weren't prominent communicators but bonded and socialized with one another and others when necessary. Individuals viewed Smudgepaw as a bystander or observer. Still, she loved talking with her father and honestly considered him his best friend since he flounders to open up to anyone else but Smudgepaw and his mate, Sunbrook.

During this walk, the two stumbled upon a fox and her three pups, causing the feline's hackles to rise and become defensive. The fox instantly extrapolated these two were dangerous to her youngsters, conveying brutality. The vixen lunged toward Sprucenose, her mandibles clamping around Sprucenose's nape. Smudgepaw froze momentarily, watching as those incisors lacerated into Sprucenose, penetrating the skin deeply as sanguine fluid spilled to the terra firma. From that moment, suddenly Ospreycry's vocals plunged into her ears, shaking her head as she began to climb up the most immediate tree, advancing for the closest branches she could and leaped. She reached an excellent elevated point and watched as her brother moved fluently, dodging raging snaps from the fox. She swallowed the lump in her throat, her legs extending outward as she landed upon the fox's back, unsheathing her claws as her brother switched angles, attacking from the opposing side. Upon vigorous shaking, she slipped slightly, sinking her teeth into the fox's throat, her hind claws raking at the fox's chest. With the release of Sprucenose, her father dispersed across the topography, laying limply. The fox yowled and sprinted off with her pups, blood spilling left between the four who fought.

Ospreycry and Smudgepaw scrambled to the flanks of their father, hovering over the opaquely-pigmented tomcat. Sprucenose's breaths had become erratic and shallow, his visage slowly averting to his kits. "Be strong, you two, be honored for your brave fight. I wish you two well. Make me proud; I will be admiring you from StarClan." He wished his kin farewell as his last few breaths slipped away from his physique. The two siblings glimpsed at one another, sorrow in their eyes, unbreakable silence. Smudgepaw felt ultimately ill, wishing that she would've reacted sooner before the fox could've gotten a hold of Sprucenose. Smudgepaw exhaled sheepishly, knowing she'd mourn her father's death for a while, if not her whole life.

That night, at Moonhigh, mourned the death of Sprucenose, and the leader had announced Smudgepaw's warrior ceremony on the arrival day for their brave battle. The daybreak arrived, and the thing Smudgepaw dreaded would be the silent vigil. The time soon came, their warrior ceremony. Russetbreath cared less for her ceremony, considering they went into warriorhood two moons earlier. Alderstar spoke his thoughts on the molly, giving her praise, soon announcing the individual as Smudgemask. The two were pleased with their names, wishing they could speak on their behalves. However, the silence was something every new warrior went through. Smudgemask idolized and cherished her name, similar to her father's warrior name, Sprucenose.

Warriorhood:

Smudgemask was excited but nervous for the upcoming moon and the rest of her life. The young warrior still figured he had a lot to learn, but that would come as he aged. She never really stuck around for the Elder's stories since she always visited the Medicine Cat's den with Ospreycry as kits. Occasionally, she wonders what the elders have to say the more moons pass. Smudgemask thought momentarily, eventually concluding that it's about time she listened to at least one or a few stories told by the Elders. After the first week of border patrols and hunting patrols, she had finally decided to visit the Elders. She approached, her head held low out of apprehension. Maybe she could get one of the grumps to tell a story or two. As each one told an individual anecdote, she felt enlightened by them. Perhaps she should've attended more of the Elder's stories while she was a kit. Smudgemask had yet to receive an apprentice, questioning the retired warriors regarding their experiences as a mentor. The mademoiselle had many years to grow and learn, though she already possessed a technically suitable persona.
