The young tom had set up patrols for the day already, and decided that he would stop and take a moment to simply breathe. His mother and father had passed not too long ago, and he was still grieving for the loss of his sister and the kin that he would never know about. But the deputy knew that life would go on and his sister wouldn't simply want him to stop living for the sake of grief over her and her children that were off living with their loner father. Taking a deep breath, the tom peered out towards the beach that lay before him. It was time for the tides to recede and he watched as various shells and creatures were left strewn across the sand. Maybe he would grab some to keep for future queens and kits as gifts for their pregnancy. That seemed appropriate right?

The young tom set to gathering seashells that were left behind, picking up the ones that were whole and leaving the ones that were broken on the shore as he walked across the sandy shores.
